LUDMILA DONEMAN – Manager/Administrator (Personal Development and Resilience)
Ludmila Doneman is co-founder of Edgeware Creative Entrepreneurship. Her working life has led her from the mainstream of a rich and critical theatre tradition in Central Europe to re-establishment and training in Australia, from student and ‘laboratory’ theatre in the 70’s into her continuing concern with community development, the arts and social-cultural animation. She is passionate about working with people whose voices are often unheard – young people, women, migrants, the elderly, and people with disabilities. Her Curriculum Vitae demonstrates a breadth and depth of skills and experience which continues to inspire and enliven, and to ‘quicken’ community aspirations and goals. Her work has been concerned from the beginning with a practice of empowerment, the provision of infrastructure and method which, while perhaps not always as visible as ‘product’, helps make for continuity and sustainability. This can be seen in the number of organisations she has established, which continue and thrive in the field. She also has a strong track record in administration and management of organisations and events. Education: BA, UNSW – 1977

“flexibility to be really creative and innovative
The course is rich in content and enables you to look at your business from many points of view. It provides the tools to get your business idea up and running and the flexibility to be really creative and innovative in your business design. The course encourages and inspires each of us to be the best we can be and truly live our dream or vision. It is a winning combination, with dynamic and knowledgeable presenters in the context of a supportive group inspiring confidence, respect and confidentiality.
“thrash out what it takes to get your venture off the ground”
Edgeware takes a bunch of people with big ideas, throws them in a pot, sprinkles them with the hard-won wisdom of hand-picked mentors, gives them a stir, then lets them stew. It's a great way to meet like-minded souls and thrash out what it takes to get your venture off the ground.
“drew out my ideas … into perspective”
Well delivered. I'm impressed with how you've drawn out my ideas and brought them into perspective. The one point that really stood out for me was that my business goals are achievable. I'm more confident in terms of starting my business now and about what the future holds.
“I really needed a process which gave me inspiration”
When I began Edgeware I was confused about my intentions and under pressure from other events in my life which were making decisions necessary but very difficult. I really needed a process which gave me inspiration and encouraged decision making. But I also needed a process which allowed me to progress at my own pace and make decisions my way. If it added a dash of inspiration that would be good too. In Edgeware, I found it all.
“a journey as unique and individual as you are”
Everyday people with interesting ideas on the way to turning their dreams into reality. Edgeware is a community where purposeful, spirited interactions are fostered within a safe and supportive environment. If you've ever felt the need to just 'go for it' with your business ideas then you've come to the right place. Edgeware will get under your skin. It's a journey as unique and individual as you are.
“very engaging and accessible”
Very engaging and accessible. Liked the interactive nature of the delivery. Extremely high quality and good value.
“one of the most exciting educational experiences”
The content and delivery of the varied presentations and workshops was vibrant and fun, not to mention that the charismatic interactions of the participants has been one of the most exciting educational experiences that I have been involved with.
“excellent use of tools”
Excellent use of tools to cover all areas of small business life and to spark conversation and sharing from attendees.
“good, honest feedback”
I liked the personal approach and ability to give good, honest feedback based on experience.
“invigorating business training”
The most invigorating and explosive business training package on the market, delivered in a very short time.
“I would highly recommend it to anyone”
The course gave me greater clarity and focus on where to take my business from here. A lot of the ideas and techniques can also be applied to personal life - which was another unexpected bonus. It was fun, positive, educational, motivating and very professional. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
“a strategic direction for the next three years”
I've studied business and strategic planning at Master's level, but Edgeware's tools allowed me to simplify my 30 page business plan into one page that gives me a strategic direction for the next three years.
“my world has changed”
I have to say my world has changed since meeting you. I'm more focused about the direction I want to take my business in. Having that focus means that people are beginning to respond to me in a different way.
“designed to nurture and inspire budding entrepreneurs”
I thoroughly enjoyed and got so much value from the Edgeware program I loved that it is designed to nurture and inspire budding entrepreneurs - instead of approaching business from a theoretical viewpoint, Edgeware provides a practical, hands-on approach to making entrepreneurial visions a reality in a way that is real-world and real-time. What made the program so worthwhile were the interactive style of the seminars (as a group we learned so much from one another), and also the specific systems and processes - by following the step-by-step process I developed a really clear business plan that now paves the way for me to fulfill on my vision.
“inspired change within myself”
Very useful for learning new tools to bring your business up and to the fore; for meeting other people with similar issues and learning from them. It inspired change within myself.
“the confidence to take the next step”
Whether it be one business idea (or hundreds), I think Edgeware is great for anyone who needs help to move on with it. For my own needs, I savoured the whole package - tips, tools, support, ethics, drive, contacts, information, inspiration, etc. The organic approach at Edgeware is significant - I think everyone wants to know about real people, real struggle and real success. It was such a great experience to be in a group of like-minded individuals who contributed so much of themselves. Thanks to Edgeware, I've found the confidence to take the next step.
“really informative and helpful speakers”
I didn't know what to expect. It sounded a bit abstract, a bit out there, a bit creative for me! What I got was to meet a great bunch of people, listen to some really informative and helpful speakers and walk away with some easy, simple tools that I can use on my business and to help build my software product.
“never have I acquired so many skills so quickly”
A quick thank you for the skills I have acquired. In my 24 years as a manager I have participated in many training programs, both formal qualifications and internal workshops and never have I acquired so many skills so quickly, which I can apply immediately. I particularly found useful that I can now scope a project and build a business plan in 24 hours, then either discard the concept or make a decision to run with it. Prior to my Edgeware learning, this could have taken weeks. For me, you absolutely nailed the mix of skills any modern manager needs.
“diverse tools for reviewing our business plan”
The workshop was very beneficial for our business, it provided many diverse tools for reviewing our business plan, and enabled us to see things that influence our business that we were previously unaware of.
“way easier to interpret than other business courses”
My overall impression of the program is: Way easier to interpret than other business courses. The business experience you guys have is remarkable, and advice comes across to me so I can understand.
“breaks the rules and encourages lateral thinking”
After 10 years of business growth, we needed to re-evaluate our position and set some new challenges. The Edgeware program was exactly what we needed. It breaks the rules of traditional business planning courses and encourages lateral thinking whilst empowering you with the planning tools you need to implement your strategy.
“about learning to run a business at a profit”
It's about learning to run a business at a profit. It's easy to understand, and provides ideas on how to implement the process. I left school at 15, this is my first experience of formal training, and it was very useful.
“I smile, and ‚Äòstride with pride'”
Within 10 days of Edgeware completion, my business experiences have escalated to 'almost giddy' heights. From the 'grounded experience', I now seek balance of short-term cashflow, with longer-term reachable goals. With the Edgeware experience sitting comfortably within me, I smile, and 'stride with pride'.
“a creative experience … nothing short of breathtaking”
A self-development and creative experience that was nothing short of breathtaking.
Mike Boyd, Brisbane
Edgeware has been a godsend. As an entrepreneur, already with a number of business and community interests, the process has refined my focus and enabled me to take a leap of faith in developing a business concept which closely matches my personal goals and ambitions.
“birthed a new business in real time”
What a surprise! I opened the back pack with trepidation and what popped out like a jack-in-the-box was a whole new idea. The course evoked, provoked, percolated and birthed a new business in real time in the real world. Thank you!
Amanda K, Logan City
“I didn’t know a thing about starting up a business”
Excellent! I didn't know a thing about starting up a business or doing a business plan and now I do. Thanks Robert and Michael. You are great role models and teachers. Three points that really stood out for me were: simplify your business; now-where-how; and be first or be different.
“covered more than we expected”
Delivery of the course was simply amazing. Covered more than we expected, it all flowed together well and made sense. Loved it. Gave us great tools to use and reinforced some of things we are doing.
Guat Ong and David Brough-Smith
“nothing has ever come close to Edgeware”
As an ex-teacher, you can imagine how many seminars I've sat through. As a former small business owner I also attended many trying to get that edge. Nothing, and I mean Nothing has ever come close to Edgeware. Were I ten years younger and not so committed I would love to do the extra training to become a presenter.
“it never really felt like work”
I really enjoyed the mix of work, anecdotes, guest speakers and activities. It never really felt like work. One point that really stood out for me was your friendly, caring generosity from start to finish.
“I’m still not bored!”
I felt relaxed and in a good mood at every class ... and even in the last session I'm still not bored!
